The winner of this years’ ‘Most Disruptive Event’ Award is the Barclays Entrepreneur Awards.
Like many events in 2020, this was an established award ceremony that had to switch from a live to digital format, whilst still retaining the engagement and grandeur that had been established in previous events.
Whilst many events that have been involved in ‘the great pivot’ have simply taken the live event and transferred it online, Barclays’ event team took a much more strategic approach. This meant building the event from the bottom up and often changing content and production to best suit the digital audience.
The result was a more curated experience, one that the judges felt would have felt more personal to the digital audience and that was proven, statistically by the event’s evaluation, to have more engagement before, during and after the ceremony. It was a quality event that is now setting its eyes upon more hybrid variations in the future.
