Logistical Challenge of the Year

This was a tough category to judge as all the submissions described varying valid and relatable logistical challenges and teams who most certainly rose to meet them head on! After much discussion we selected the BBC Event Team as the winner because we unanimously agreed that the team demonstrated amazing flexibility and adaptability to deliver a global event with a lasting and positive impact.

They not only maintained the integrity of the initial event brief but also addressed challenges such as a rail strike in such a way that there was no detrimental effect on the attendees or engagement. We were impressed with the team’s response to the technical and logistical challenges faced and the swift way in which they were able to identify solutions, brief in suppliers, manage a huge amount of content and essentially adapt the entire format of the event at short notice.

The submission was detailed in outlining both the objectives and the outcomes of the event and demonstrated the tangible successes of the event, whilst also considering inclusivity, accessibility and environmental impact. The team’s logistical skills, adaptability and dedication make the BBC worthy recipients of this year’s award.
