What does someone who becomes disillusioned with a dream career in Acting do? They move to a career in events! Steve Brown has over 20 years of experience within the event industry, predominantly on B2B events and has worked on every possible event format.
A (British) Northerner by birth, Steve did a “Dick Whittington” and moved to London where he quickly realized the streets were not paved with gold, but it did cost a lot to live on them!
Starting at a small event management consultancy (owned by non-other than ICE Founder Anita Howard) which was subsequently acquired by a financial publishing firm where Steve stayed for a number of years before moving to Incisive Media managing the logistics for their exhibition’s portfolio, he then transitioned into their tech division managing some of the company’s largest awards.
Incisive Media brought him to New York over 10 years ago, heading up their events team for a number of years before taking up the role of Global Events & Partnerships Director at Shutterstock and, more recently, transitioning out on his own, as a freelancer. Freelancing has afforded Steve the time to juggle events for a new list of clients and follow up on some passion projects including introducing the drama of Eurovision to a rather bewildered NY audience as well as a return to stage with few stand-up comedy gigs and Improv performances.
