We went paperless, everything was available via our dedicated conference app (printing and shipping etc actually cost more than the app).

Bike Shuttles to the evening event
Banking
Filtered Tab water instead of bottled water.

Our ice sculptures use only natural ingredients (water!) which creates only reusable waste – therefore ice sculptures are a very sustainable product to have at an event and a great alternative to creating specific displays, logos, stations etc for an individual event. We encourage our clients to re-use the meltwater to water plants, clean floors, etc!

Vegetarian meals as standard with the option choose meat
On our event we chose a fully vegetarian menu and guests need to let us know if they wanted meat as an option
Jugs of Water and Sourcing Food locally
For our Strategy & Marketing meeting, we had glass jugs of filtered tap water placed on the tables. For my overnight stay, I used the bike hire and went for a stroll to the town pub with my colleagues, not having to drive, saved on gas emissions and helped our wellbeing, we got to enjoy the beautiful countryside too. I also noticed that the hotel had an organic vegetable and herb garden which some items were used in our breakfast and lunch. Other produce used, is locally sourced from local farmers. The event was help at Ellenborough Park Hotel & Spa, Gloucestershire.
GREAT TOOLS FOR MEASUREMENT IDEAS
Wrap resources section – in particular look at the food waste tools. My Climate Calculator Many of these around, but get a rough idea of your footprint, so that you know your baseline. Also, on Google flights, you can see emissions per flight, but it doesn't automatically show. You need to select sort by Co2 emissions and then it can give you a bit of an idea of how much CO2 you could be saving by choosing a different airline and/or route.
BADGE IDEAS
Delegate badges, napkins, washing cups and saucers all affect the environment. For our delegate badges at ice, we sourced metal camping style mugs and printed waterproof labels which included the delegates name and their linkedin qr code. We sourced extra-long lanyards (which did not arrive on time but the idea was good) so that the delegate could carry the mug around with them easily and there was a cleaning station, with bamboo cleansing wipes, for the delegate to clean out their cup for the next drink. Not only did this reduce washing, it also enabled delegates to connect with others easily by scanning qr codes. We also provided delegates with reusable napkins which can also be used at other events and, at home 54% of delegates took their mug and napkins away with them so they can use them at the next event.
